Fun weekend

Friday night...

Watched a boring movie The Reaping.

Saturday...

Morning, we lost the game. Plain and simple. Funny thing I noticed, you'll have a lot more post game discussions when you lose a game than when you win.. Hmmm. Maybe it's just hard to accept defeat that you have to analyze every bit of what happened inside the hardcourt and criticize all the calls and non-calls of the referees. eheheh. If only I would have known earlier that we will lose, I shouldn't have played and went to my office mate's place for a night of sing-along instead! eheheh. Afternoon, watched Gray Matters. A movie about a lesbian coming out. Though it was a funny movie, i just don't think we should have watched that. eheheh. Finally, evening. We just CHILLED!! Had a great night! Played basketball, billiards, and poker and swam until the wee hours of the morning at Ced's place.

Sunday...

Wasn't able to go to Sunday Service, for obvious reason. Woke up at around 9am to eat breakfast and then went swimming again, basically the same as saturday night. What a weekend, eh? Great way to forget your problems and just relax.

Project Completed

Done! Finished with one of my projects. My side project actually, I've been working on it for more than 3 weeks now but I didn't get a push until yesterday when I was asked to hurry it up. Though I was really planning to finish it and submit it this weekend, of course I was still hoping that it can be extended. But due to circumstances, extension is not an option. I'm still thinking of minor changes to make it better but too late for that. I just hope that I did a good job and impress the reviewer so that my effort won't go to waste. Have my two fingers crossed.

NBA Playoffs

The playoffs started and my teams are struggling.. too bad. Miami Heat is now 0-2 against Chicago Bulls. San Antonio Spurs lost its home court advantage to Denver Nuggets. I just hope they can still win their respective series.

Love Fool

"Because you're hoping you're wrong. And every time she does something that tells you she's no good, you ignore it. And every time she comes through and surprises you, she wins you over, and you lose that argument with yourself, that she's not for you. "
"Exactly, and on top of that there's the old standby, I can't believe a girl like that would actually be with a guy like me." -- The Holiday.

Love someone without expecting something in return... (mahirap ata ito ah. ehehe)
Love does not hurt. Expectations hurt. You are not hurt because of loving, you are hurt because you expect him/her to love you back...

Do not be afraid to love. There's no fear in love so don't be afraid of rejections...

When love hurts, love more.
When love still hurts, love even more.
When love hurts more, love until it hurts no more...

You can love someone for a day...
Or you can love someone forever.
If you love someone for a day...
then it was not love.
It was infatuation.

Love can be found on the other side of the world...
or it can be in front of your face.
Without you having realized it until much later.

There is no specific way to approach the person you love.
However...do not fail to express your feelings.
Seize the moment...Do not let it pass you by.
Realize the love you have in front of you.

Love is not blind.. It can see, but opt not to mind.

If I speak in the tongues of men and angels,
but have not love,
I have become sounding brass or a tinkling symbol.

And if I have prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge,
and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains,
but have not love, I am nothing.

And if I dole out all my goods, and
if I deliver my body that I may boast
but have not love, nothing I am profited.

Love is long suffering,
love is kind,
it is not jealous,
love does not boast,
it is not inflated.

It is not discourteous,
it is not selfish,
it is not irritable,
it does not enumerate the evil.
It does not rejoice over the wrong, but rejoices in the truth

It covers all things,
it has faith for all things,
it hopes in all things,
it endures in all things.

Love never falls in ruins;
but whether prophecies, they will be abolished; or
tongues, they will cease; or
knowledge, it will be superseded.

For we know in part and we prophecy in part.

But when the perfect comes, the imperfect will be superseded.

When I was an infant,
I spoke as an infant,
I reckoned as an infant;

when I became [an adult],
I abolished the things of the infant.

For now we see through a mirror in an enigma, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know as also I was fully known.

But now remains, faith, hope, love,
these three;

but the greatest of these is love. -- 1 Corinthians 1-13

Wala lang.. :) Just a collection of quotes about love. Some I believe in, some I don't.

Basketball fever

At last! After so many years, I was able to play in our church's sportsfest. But it was not a good debut though, 'coz I had the worst offensive game of my basketball career (if there is one. ehehe). I didn't score a point! Thanks to limited games I played after college, I lost my shooting touch. And because I'm comfortable playing 1 and 2 position, I rely more on scoring outside. So you do the math. Anyway, enough of that.

It was a fun experience altogether, though it was really tiring -- we have to play twice that day. There are a lot of people who came to watch and cheer for the teams -- it would have been better if they stayed until the last game which is our second game. (ehehe) And the way the players play is really different from when you play against others outside the church. Though there is physicality at times, you always feel that all are just playing for fun and no one intends to hurt anyone.

Looking forward to our next game. Hope we get to the finals!

By the way, I was watching UFC 70 yesterday and I saw the nastiest knockout ever since I started watching UFC. It was a right kick to head of Mirko Cro Cop by Gabriel Gonzaga on the first round. It was very devastating that Cro Cop just drop dead on the canvass ignoring his twisted ankle! Can't wait for Gonzaga-Couture championship fight!

Check Operator Services

Can somebody tell me what's the use of credit limit? Am I wrong in thinking that when you exceed that amount, it is the only time the service provided by your network will be cut off?? So why on earth do I get Check Operator Services??? I still have a good thousand pesos left before I reach my credit limit! And I do pay my bill every month, though not fully (hihihih), but at least I do, thinking that as long as I'm under the limit, I will not have disrupted service. Oh well, what can I do? Even if I complain all I want to the customer service rep, nothing will happen. He/She will just tell me that I have to pay my existing balance for them to re-connect my line. Lesson learned: Never mind the credit limit crap.. Just pay the bill on time. :)

Sa Globe, lahat posible! (I agree!)

Summer Time!

Summer na!!! We had our company outing last Saturday, April 14 at Clearwater Country Club. Well, the event itself went quite well but the events that happened before that… not so much. A series of unfortunate events (Ehehe), disastrous, one might even say. First, my car's right rear brake got stuck! (strike one!) Thankfully, I was out of EDSA by the time it happened, I was about a mile from Freya's house so I wasn't creating major traffic. Imagine forcing my car to "move" with only 3 wheels rolling. Ehehe. Clearly my car won’t be able to take us to Pampanga so we used her car instead. We got to Pampanga alright but then just about a few kilometers away from Clearwater, the car overheated! (strike two!) Good thing though, we were close to a petrol station so we went there to cool down the car's engine. So there we were with the sun glaring and all, just hosing down the radiator. It doesn’t end there, somehow with all the signs pointing to the country club, we still got lost. (strike three!) We turned right instead of going straight ahead… Lucky aren’t we? We saw the Clearwater entrance alright, but we're on the other side of the road so we have to look for a U-turn slot that was sooo far away. Oh well, that sums-up our good fortune in the morning. But I have to say that all the hassles were worth it because we enjoyed the rest of the day (swim! swim! swim!). Our team won the cheering contest (I participated!) and we became the overall champion!

Income Tax Return

It's the last day of filing Income Tax Return.. Fortunately I don't have to deal with long lines and rushes to complete requirements because I already filed my return last friday! yipee! Just a reminder to those who will file their tax return on remote filing areas, do not ask for assistance on how much do you have to pay to the person receiving your 1700 because they don't know what they're talking about. Harharhar. I think they are just volunteers, like the ones on election day. Better to just check the back of your form and understand it yourself. All they're gonna tell you is "Basta nag zero zero lahat ng 2316 mo, wala ka na babayaran". Though in truth, you have to add up your income for the whole year then compute for the tax you have to pay using the tax table. There's a big chance that there is a discrepancy in your current tax withheld and your actual tax payable. So goodluck to those who are going to beat the deadline!!! By the way, if you have payments to settle go directly to accredited banks, don't bother going to remote filing areas.
