Another one bites the dust

Life is too short some say, so let's live it meaningfully. Yesterday, I was told that another one of our neighbors died. Yes, another one. There were three, as far as I know, who died in our neighborhood. The first one was stabbed, the other one fell on the floor of the bathroom (they said it was a heart attack) and the third died of "bangungot". All in a span of a week. Makes me think how they lived their lives. Are they good people? Are they church goers? And if they are, do they really believe and obey God? Have they done their purpose in life? Are they satisfied? Questions that I obviously won't get answers to. Life-- we really don't know how long it will last. We just have to live it to its fullest extent but also keeping in mind about what will happen after death. We have to let no opportunities pass by and seize everyday of our lives by being radical but inspirational, partying hard but with holiness and being lovers of ourselves with the same love for others. Life is a preparation for our death and death is the start of our after life.

Even at our birth, death does but stand aside a little. And every day he looks towards us and muses somewhat to himself whether that day or the next he will draw nigh... - Robert Bolt
